Surface Functionalization of Nanoparticles


In collaboration with Prof. Gonghu Li (UNH), we have designed a series of small linkers to enable the attachment of molecular catalysts to the surface of semi-conduting nanoparticles. The approach makes use of a modular assembly to enable the rapid synthesis of a library of linkers that will allow us to study the effect of linker length and molecular catalyst orientation on the electron transfer dynamics. The designed systems will target the reduction of CO2 for the generation of solar fuels.
